Wall Tent Models & Prices

Canvas Tents and frames for wall tents are significantly below retail. Quality wall tents are a necessity in the backcountry. All canvas tents have been extensively tested. I live in a canvas wall tent or spike tent 6 to 7 weeks a year while hunting elk, deer and bear in the Idaho Wilderness.

Recommendation When wetting your tent for shrinkage and also when it rains/snows, insure that you have guy ropes/side ropes and wall stakes on your new wall tent to insure it only shrinks the normal 1-3% shrinkage and that it shrinks evenly. Otherwise it may shrink more than 3% and unevenly and may not fit your internal frame properly.

The WILDERNESS canvas tents have the following standard (free) features that are normally options on other tents.THESE STANDARD FREE FEATURES NORMALLY COST $100-$200 ON OTHER TENTS as they are normally options. Standard (free) wilderness tent features:

(1).Free back door or back wall screened window. Your choice.

(2) Free storm flap with buckles over front and back doors.

(3) Free reinforced ridge with an extra layer of canvas, double stitched.

.(4) Free large tent bag.

(5) Free webbing on both eaves with heavy D rings to reinforce the eave where the most stress is on a tent. A much more durable and stronger system than grommets pressed into canvas eaves on a standard tent.

(6) Free 5 foot finished wall height.

There is no other tent on the market that has the Wilderness free standard features, I guarantee it. Other standard features on the Wilderness Canvas tents (7) Free zippered front door (8) Free sod cloth (9) Free stovejack , 5 or 6 inches (10) Free ropes and tensioners. I strongly recommend the Wilderness Canvas Tents if you are looking for a quality tent, at a reasonable price, with many standard free features. The Hunter canvas tents are "Sunforger - Double Fill - Army Duck". The Hunter tent can be modified/custom made to any specification. Hunter canvas tents are available in water and mildew resistance treated and also in FIRE treated, water and midew resistance treated. Stovejack and windows can be placed wherever you want them. Also available are zippered corners with rollup sides with tie strings. Awnings, porches and cook shacks can be ordered at time of tent purchase. Or you can order an awning, porch or cookshack for a tent you already have. Canvas room dividers are also available that tie to rafters of an internal frame. These canvas room dividers have a zipper centered in the room divider. Flap doors are also an option if you do not want a zippered door. Tent wall height from 5-8 feet is also an option. Eave socks can also be added to your hunter tent if you want to connect your tent frame to the frame for an awning porch or cookshack. If you want a custom, quality made tent, the Hunter is the tent you need to order.

Be Careful. Some companies list tents with very, very low prices. The first question you should ask," is the tent treated for water and mildew resistance? " If a tent has not been treated it will shrink 10-12%. Every time the tent gets wet and shrinks you will have to cut down your internal steel frame because the incredible shrinking tent will no longer fit your frame. Additionally, a tent not treated for water and mildew resistance will mildew and rot very quickly.

You can have a 2% discount on all items if you pay by cashier check or money order. My costs are reduced if you don't use credit cards and I'm just passing the savings onto the customer. 

USED WALL TENTS: I occasionally get in a used wall tent, but not very often. Be very careful buying a used canvas tent because there is really no way to tell the veracity of the seller. On some used canvas tents there are no labels detailing what treatment has been applied to the canvas. My Wilderness tents on special are not much more than what you would pay for good used wall tents. I recommend you do some comparison shopping on used wall tents vs new tents. If possible, before buying a used wall tent, set up the tent on its frame and wet it down with water to determine if there are any leaks. I have sold many new tents to customers who recently purchased a "used canvas tent" that was not properly treated (or not treated at all) and the used wall tent leaked all over, especially at the seams. Not a good experience at the hunting camp. I occasionally have a wall tent sale so check my prices occasionally and you might be better off buying a new tent - if your budget allows.
